Vash's POV
I listened as how the doctor explained the condition of my girlfriend.
"We already conducted some lab tests and within an hour ay malalaman na natin what her illness is, but the patient showed symptoms alike dengue. Dengue is also referred as dengue hemorrhagic fever. However, the fever begins just as the normal fever but gets worse after sometime. It is very difficult for the patient to understand initially as some of the symptoms are quite similar to normal fever symptoms pero isa sa mga nararamdaman ng patient ay joint pains, high fever vomiting, rashes and discharge of bllod in the nose.. We already had tests to find out whats her blood type because as what i can see the patient needs a blood transfusion as soon as the lab results determine na dengue nga because the patient showed worst case of dengue."
"So are you suggesting that ipa check ko ang bllod type ko kung pwede ako magdonate sa kanya?"
"Yes if you can possibly donate, but i must say that you should contact her family as soon as you can sothat we can other donors na pwedeng magdonate."
"I already did and they are coming."
And as if on cue ay dumating nga ang pamilya ni River and worry is written all over their faces.
"What happened?" River' dad has this stern look on me.
"I...I dont know tito. We were talking and then she ran to the lavatory and the next thing I knew nawalan na siya ng malay."
Humarap kami sa doctor when he started speaking.
"Confirmed Dengue. We will now conduct blo0d transfussion as her platelet count bug down to 10, 000. The patient has a blood type A- and we need an A- or O- donors so we can proceed to transfusion."
Napatingin ako sa ama ni River when he cleared his throat.
"I can't." He said
"What do you mean you can't?" I asked
"I...I... am not his dad."
"What?!"
Anong hindi ama ni River si Mr. Monteverde? Ano to?! Hindi Monteverde si River?!
"Hindi niya ako Ama ok? At hindi magma-match ang dugo namin sa isat-isa at malabo rin akong maka donate sa kanya dahil B+ ako" Tito Joseph
Damn.
"Bakit may mga negative positive pa?" I asked
Alangan na magtanong ako dahil hindi ko alam na may mga ganoong factor pa when it comes to blood type, ang alam ko lang ba blood type ay A, B, AB, at O.
"We are just making things and doing things carefully sir because the blood used in a transfusion must work with your blood type. If it doesn't, antibodies in your blood attack the new blood and make you sick. And that is the last thing we want our patient to feel."
"Should we start contacting the blood bank?" Tito Joseph
"We actually did Sir as soon as we found out that the patient needs a transfusion but the blood bank can give blood within the next 24 hours and we really need to do transfusion dahil sobrang baba na po ng platelet count ng pasyente" Doctor
"I am type O. Check it if I can give her blood" I told them

"What do you mean I can't?!"
"Eh ahh.... kasi po Sir ...di...di po kasi nagmatch. O+ po kayo."
I know I scared the poor nurse pero di ko lang mapigilang hindi ma highblood ng sinabi nilang di ako pwede mag donate kay River. The first thing I thought ay may HIV ako because of my multiple $ex partners but thank God wala naman pala.
Nawawalan na ako ng pag-asa. Andito kami sa ICU ngayon at napatingin ako kay River.
God ang putla putla na niya. Her step mother kept on crying while her dad kept silent.
Di ko napigilang sabunutan ang buhok ko. Nafu-frustrate na ako. Hindi ko kayang tingnan na nahihirapan si river and worst nasa bingit na ng kamatayan. Just fck!
I already texted my friends and even my dad if he can do something but damn, lahat sila ay walang magagawa. We badly needed blood.
I was about to curse when someone knocked on the door. Si Lindsey.
"Mamamatay na ba siya?" she innocently asked
I took few steps to come near her to wring her neck but I stopped on my track when her dad slapped her.
"Hayop ka." Tito joseph
"Bakit ka mag-aalala diyan eh di mo naman anak yan." Lindsey
"Lumayas ka dito bago pa kita masaktan. Anak nga kita pero wala ka talahgang kwenta."
"Walang kwenta? Paano kung sabihin kong, ako lamang ang makakapag donate diyan sa ampon mo. Masasabi mo pa kayang wala akong kwenta?"
"If you wanna help, please just help. She needed blood badly kung ikaw ang makakatulong sa kanya, maawa ka, tumulong ka na." I pleaded
Damn, This will be the first time I will ask someone help where i pleaded desperately.
"I can help. But in one condition." Lindsey
"Animal ka talaga, Tutulong ka na nga lang sa kapatid mo may kondisyon pa!" Tito joseph
"HINDI KO SIYA KAPATID!!! At kahit kailan di ko matatanggap na kapatid ko siya! Anak siya ng namatay mong asawa sa driver niyo, naloko ka na at naisahan pero nagawa mo pa ring akuin ang walang hiyang yan, and worst, akong anak mo ay ni hindi mo man lang nakitang lumaki o di mo man lang pinaramdam na anak mo ko!"
"Dahil di ko alam na nagka anak kami ni Belinda! At pag-aawayan pa ba natin to? Nangangailangan si River ng tulong mo. Ipagdadamot mo pa ba yon?"
"this is not the time for us to quarrel. My girlfriend needs to survive kaya please lindsey. If you can help please. Help."
"I will. In one condition Vash."
"What is it?"
"After the transfusion, you'll broke up with her and you'll be with me."
"Are you insane?!"
"No"
We was interrupted when the doctor said
"The patient's platelet decreases sir. We need now to perform the procedure. You can now lay in the other bed ma'am" Baling nito kay Lindsey
"Wait, di niyo pa na check ang blood type niya." Me
"We already did Sir. Ma'am matched. She's an O- , we will proceed now."
"What now Vash? Ako lang ang pag-asa niyo para mabuhay siya. Take it or leave it." Lindsey
Napatingin ako sa ama ni River and her crying step mom. I took a deep breathe.
"Okay"
